M.R. Street started out submitting work to traditional publishers, but soon decided that life is too short to wait six months for a publisher's response, only to receive a rejection letter. She researched self-publishing options, created her press, and with her first self-published novel, won first place in the Royal Palm Literary Awards. With the publication of Lt. Gen. Lawrence F. Snowden's memoir, SNOWDEN'S STORY: ONE MARINE'S INDEBTEDNESS TO THE CORPS, Turtle Cove Press became a true independent publisher. After several people asked her about the pros and cons of self-versus traditional publishing, M.R. wrote an eBook, WONDERING HOW TO PUBLISH A BOOK? A GUIDE TO TRADITIONAL, INDEPENDENT, AND SELF-PUBLISHING. As part of a panel discussion, M.R. will share tips she learned through her own journey as an author and publisher.
