Speaker Bio
Nancy Nau Sullivan is a writer, teacher, and former newspaper journalist. Her award-winning memoir, THE LAST CADILLAC—a harrowing family misadventure—is set on Anna Maria Island, Florida. The setting inspired her first mystery, SAVING TUNA STREET. It was nominated for best mystery, 2020, at Foreword Reviews and launched the Blanche Murninghan mystery series. The fourth installment, A DEATHLY IRISH SECRET, was published in July. Nancy is also author of THE BOYS OF ALPHA BLOCK, a novel based on her years of teaching at a boys’ prison in Palmetto, Florida. Setting becomes a character in the story telling and inspires the writer to move from one scene to the next. Setting also shapes the main character, adds color and texture to the story, and moves the main character from one disaster to the next--until in the final scene when the character emerges unscathed, barely.
