Adelia Rosasco-Soule

Poet Laureate of Northwest Florida 1986 - 1988

The first Nortwest Florida Poet Laureate was Adelia Rosasco-Soule. She was named by 12 community groups in the process of forming a coalition dedicated to area writers, literary arts, and the preservation of the Panhandle's literary heritage. Her appointment was heralded with a resolution proclaimed by the Mayors of Pensacola and Milton alongside the Chairmen of the County Commissions for Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. 

 

Rosasco-Soule gets most of her inspiration for her writing from her travels. She is native to Italy and turns her stories from her home and abroad into elegant pieces of prose.
