Jamey Jones
Poet Laureate of Northwest Florida 2014 - 2020
Along with being the seventh Northwest Florida Poet Laureate, Jamey Jones is an author of the book Blue Rain Morning and a college instructor at Pensacola State College. As a professor at PSC, he organized performances by New York poet Anne Waldman and California poet Kim Addonizio. He also encourages his students to submit their works to the Emerald Coast Review and advises The Hurricane Review literary magazine published by PSC.
During his term, Jones hosted at least two community poetry events at Artel Gallery, including an evening of original readings inspired by Henry David Thoreau. He also presented special readings at WFLF Open Mics and hosted a book talk at PSC.

Jones judged the WFLF-sponsored Poem-A-day National Online Contest.

Officially Inducted
Jones is officially inducted as the Northwest Florida Poet Laureate.

Foo Foo Fest Workshops
Jones was instrumental to pulling together a series of WFLF-sponsored writing workshops as part of Pensacola's famous Foo Foo Festival. For these events, he invited Long Island University's poets Barbara Henning and Louis Warsh.
