Guest Speaker, Melanie Hendrix

Melanie Hendrix has been teaching for over 32 years in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Currently, she teaches AP US History and Honors/Regular US History at Booker T. Washington High School in Pensacola, FL. She is on the Board of Directors for FCSS (Florida Council for Social Studies) and serves as an ambassador for Founding Forward, the Truman Presidential Library Museum, and Retro Report. Mrs. Hendrix has been awarded the Excellence in Teaching History Teacher of the Year Award for the state of Florida, the George Washington Medal of Honor, the Florida National History Day Teacher of the Year, and was a finalist in National History Day’s Behring Teacher of the Year.
